The painting’s story is: we hunt the food that lives on this country as our ancestors did in the past and give thanks to the food and return what we can’t take, and the Spirit goes back to the land.

This is an exciting initiative, and, as older Aboriginal men, we are genuinely committed to this. We understand suffering and great loss.

Justice should be upheld for all of those who seek legal support, particularly those from First Nations communities.

We have been inspired to talk about the legal system that makes us the most incarcerated culture in this country.

This is not the journey I planned. I didn’t wake up one day and say, ‘I want to go to prison and become an artist. I better start applying to all the different gangs and drug dealers and see who is hiring.’ No, that’s not how it happened. In fact, the road was a lot darker, violent and overall ruthless.
