Snails With Sails

By

Minh

Minh writes from a prison in VIC.

A photo taken from a high vantage point, looking out over a big valley of trees.
Harrison Doust

No mail

No bail

Just jail

Hail and rain

Rain and suffering

Silently ingrained

Nothing to gain

Just the in chasing the sane

As one they are the same

Welcome to hell

Act up

Get locked up in the cell

Sun down sun up

Commeth a new day

Can you hear and tell

With the ringing of the bell

This is a new hell

The cycle of life

Why can’t you break

Out of your shell

Set sail

Like walking trees

Dressed in green and white

Throw a seed

Beyond the wall

Repeat after me

In three

Thrice

Once and twice

Twice and once

Thrice

‍

I’ve become a tree

‍

Tree of life

Seed a new breed

Got mail

Time to bail

I will not fail

Outside these walls

Again!

Cold blows the wind tonight, sweetheart, cold are the drops of rain, cold are the four walls of my cell, so cold I shall remain.

These “emotions” that carry me. It’s from these that you see me. Let not what you see, be all I can be. I’m so much more, this isn’t all.

Alone in my cell, 3 metres long and 2 metres wide, the ceiling above, as low as the tide, the tide I’ll never see for so many years.
