Cold blows the wind tonight, sweetheart,
Cold are the drops of rain,
Cold are the four walls of my cell,
So cold I shall remain.
I sit behind these lonely walls,
My life goes on, without me.
Inside this prison, grey and stark,
Forgotten, by all who loved me.
My heart aches for only freedom,
It cries out for love, in vain.
It screams to hold my family,
It whimpers here in pain.
My mind, it knows I have to go,
To find some hope, some light.
To find the me I should have been,
To learn, I can shine bright.
So as I watch suns rise and fall,
Mark the passing of each day.
I tell myself I must be strong,
for in here, I must stay
So though I’ve never known for sure,
I know somewhere, deep inside.
lies a Queen, made of strongest stone,
And I know, she will survive.
Alone in my cell, 3 metres long and 2 metres wide, the ceiling above, as low as the tide, the tide I’ll never see for so many years.
A girl trying to find her soul, an escape with rope and toe up a tree, a knot a swing.
