See Me

By

Elijah

Elijah writes from a prison in NSW.

An image of a clear blue sky with grey clouds, over the top of a green grassy hill.
Harrison Doust

These “emotions” that carry me

It’s from these that you see me

Let not what you see, be all I can be

I’m so much more, this isn’t all

I’ve shown how much I offer

A thought for a single offer

Let not today be a day to waste away

“See me” I’ll say

Please don’t look away, notice me

I’m so much more.

Alone in my cell, 3 metres long and 2 metres wide, the ceiling above, as low as the tide, the tide I’ll never see for so many years.

A girl trying to find her soul, an escape with rope and toe up a tree, a knot a swing.
