Hello,
I just saw you on ABC News talking about a newspaper for prisoners. I didn’t see the entire interview so I was left wondering a few things. Is the paper already in circulation or in the idea phase? Are you able to get it approved Australia wide? More importantly to me personally, is it approved in Darwin? There’s a prisoner newsletter type publication called Paper Chained that can’t be handed out en masse here but can be requested through our Prison Support Officer. Anything over 5 pages (including letters from family) isn’t allowed. Staff issues restrict intel capabilities. How are you financed? Do prisoners buy/subscribe to the newspaper? Was great to see prisoners being spoken of in a constructive and positive way, as I’m sure you’re aware that isn’t the norm in Australia.
I look forward to hearing back from you and hopefully in reading your newspaper.
Jason
