ISSUE NO. 20
MARCH 2026

Pitch your Idea!

About Time is always looking for more stories and contributions from people outside prison.

Being published in About Time means reaching tens of thousands of incarcerated readers. The piece will also be published on our website and it might be promoted on our social media platforms.

We prioritise submissions from people who were formerly incarcerated, but we encourage everyone to pitch to us.

Beginning in 2025, we pay all individual contributors for their work.

Pitch to us!

  • If you’d like to write for About Time, or if there’s a story you’d like someone else to write, pitch your idea using the form provided or at contribute@abouttime.org.au
  • To ‘pitch’ means to contact the editor with an idea and discuss with them to see if it’s right for the publication. The editor will either give you the go ahead, discuss different options or angles, or explain why it’s not suitable.
  • If you want to provide a story you’ve already written, feel free to share it with us. We can then see if it’s suitable to be published in About Time.
