Brendan H (Gunaikurnai/Kurnai/Gunditjmara) ‘Connecting to Country’ 2023, acrylic on canvas

Bunjil's Always There

By Artistic Dreaming

Ngarrindjeri / Palawa

2023

This is a story about connecting to community and Country, and how we are all connected. No matter where we're going or where we have been, we are all connected.

Flutter of Life

By Ricky J

Yorta Yorta

2023

This is my journey to connect to my children. Now they have given me a second chance of life, where we now have the love and the bonding. It's given us that journey to connect to our Country. It will keep the bond stronger with the father's love, with the love of his children.

'Court' in a Trap

By C.Stewart

Wiradjuri

2023

'Court' in a Trap focuses on our justice system and how they can take something peaceful and criminalise it. The net represents our justice system that is always out to 'catch' something. The jellyfish represents any man going through life, transparent, beautiful, until the justice system finds him in their net. Similar to a jellyfish in a fishing net, the fisherman (the justice system) only focuses on the 'potential' danger and harm the jellyfish is capable of, completely ignoring the fact the jellyfish was just surviving, day by day, wave after wave.

Walking on History: Sharing Culture and Country

By the Teelack Brothers

It all has a history. So just take a second to think on how old that could be and where it came from or even who or how it could have got there.
