Vengeance

By

Prabhpreet

Prabhpreet writes from a prison in VIC.

An image taken from the ground, looking upward into the tree canopy.
Harrison Doust

Today I went down the solitary lane,

to seek revenge from who owe me pain.

What I saw was horrifying,

people gathered there too were crying.

‍

No one can find true happiness by letting the other down,

we all have to live here whether a common or a crown.

Either I have to ask or to me you,

clemency is the only answer to end the blue,

‍

nothing is lasting what to fight for,

every bit would remain here for sure,

one should just gather good deed,

for a healthy tree good should be the seed.

‍

These were the words said by the sorrowers,

we all once have to pay as we all are the borrowers.

Here I sit now quiet with a disheartened face,

I came to know we all are of same race,

‍

now you can only weep for what is forever gone,

this world is a cycle, dear, it goes on and on…

Clearly you only have to nominate ‘time travel’ as the subject of a writing competition to get people thinking.

Time, for me, was at first just “the clock on the wall” at high school. When is lunch? When will this test finish? And when is home time?
