Oreo Cake in the Secure Unit
Ingredients:
- 2 packs of Oreos
- 1 packet pancake mix
- ¼ can of vanilla Coke (optional for sweetness)
- ¼ cup of milk (use ½ cup if not using Coke)
- Butter
Utensils:
- 2 clean lunch trays
- Mixing bowl
- Knife and spoon
- Plate
Method:
- Separate the Oreos and set aside the cream filling.
- Crush the Oreo cookies to a fine dust and mix with the pancake mix.
- Stir in the liquids (milk and Coke or milk alone) until a thick batter forms.
- Butter the bottoms and sides of the lunch trays.
- Split the mixture evenly between the two trays.
- Butter two pieces of paper and use them to cover the trays.
- Place trays on the bottom of the grill for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Once cooked, allow to cool.
- Spread the reserved Oreo cream on top of one cake.
- Place the second cake on top to create a giant Oreo-style treat.
Serving suggestion:
Best served with a cup of cold milk!
Note:
The batter for this cake should be slightly thicker than normal.
