Hi About Time,

‍

My name is Ebony my cell mate Vanessa showed me this newspaper so I thought I’d give it a go to write to people out there.

‍

I will be in the women’s prison till next year. September 2027 is my parole and I hope for it to go fast so I can be back out there with my kids.

‍

I am just writing in so I can leave a message for other women who think it’s okay to do drugs: think again coz me being in here has made me realise that drugs are not worth it, family is more important.

‍

When I get out on parole, I can promise my kids that I will not touch drugs ever again.

‍

Thanks for reading.

‍

Love to all my family and friends,

From Ebony

Homelessness, addiction, no family, turned right back to what got us here in the first place. I think this is a huge problem for especially young vulnerable women to have more support on release!

Over the past 5 years I have completed numerous courses and obtained tickets for forklift – working at heights, confined space, first aid, and test and tag.
